Print-ready artwork
Design guidelines
Bleed
Add 3 mm bleed on all sides so colours and background designs run to the true edge after trimming.
Print coverage
Designs extending to the envelope edge require a compatible production route. Digital production cannot print to the edge.
Safe area
Keep important text, logos and address information at least 4 mm inside the finished edges. At the top, leave an 8 mm unprinted strip measured from the finished top edge for the production machine. The downloadable template includes the 3 mm bleed, so this top strip measures 11 mm from the outside edge of the artwork file.
File preparation
Supply a print-ready PDF with fonts embedded and raster images prepared at 300 dpi.

Frequently asked questions
Why can't the top of the envelope be printed?
The production machine holds the envelope along its top edge, so the top 8 mm of the finished envelope must stay unprinted. On the downloadable template, this is 11 mm from the outside edge of the artwork file because the file also includes 3 mm bleed.
Can I choose the window position?
Yes. Select no window, a left window or a right window before choosing the print run.
Can I order unprinted envelopes?
Yes. Choose Unprinted under Print technique.
When is artwork uploaded?
You can upload your print-ready artwork right away - no need to wait until after checkout.
