Keep essential text clear of the glued binding edge and maintain generous margins for handwritten notes.
Add your own lines
Our notepads are unlined. If you would like ruled or grid lines, include them in your artwork.
Artwork for the cover and pad
The same design repeats on every sheet. For an uncovered single-sided pad, supply one artwork page. For an uncovered double-sided pad, supply the front and back together in one two-page PDF. For a covered pad, supply the cover and pad artwork using the selected cover template; these are different-sized pages. The artwork cannot vary from sheet to sheet.
Bleed and safety margin
Add a 3 mm bleed around all edges of your design and keep important text and images at least 4 mm from the trimmed edge.
Colour setup
Use CMYK for full-colour artwork. For a PMS printing option, supply a PDF that uses only named Pantone spot colours from the Uncoated library (for example PANTONE 186 U), each at 100% with no tints or transparency. Everything must be a Pantone ink, including black (PANTONE Black U, not CMYK black); white and metallic Pantone colours cannot be printed as standard PMS inks.

Frequently asked questions
Are the sheets lined?
The sheets are supplied with your own printed design, so lines or grids should be included in the artwork.
When is artwork uploaded?
You can upload your print-ready artwork right away - no need to wait until after checkout.
What materials can I choose from?
Choose 80, 90 or 120 gsm offset paper, or 80 gsm recycled paper, where available for your selected size. Optional covers are 170 gsm or 250 gsm Silk, or 170 gsm recycled with recycled paper. Covered pads use sturdy grey cardboard backing. White paper backing is available only on compatible uncovered pads. The available choices update with your configuration.
Can the notepads be ordered with holes punched?
Choose No holes, 2 holes or 4 holes in the Boreholes section on this page before supplying artwork. Availability depends on the selected configuration; four holes are available on A4 formats. The standard spacing between holes is 80 mm. The option icons and general artwork templates do not specify exact punch positions; keep important content clear of the filing edge and confirm the punch layout before using artwork close to it.
Which side is the pad bound on?
Choose upper (top) bound or left bound when configuring your notepad.
Which production techniques do you use?
Smaller quantities are printed digitally; larger runs use offset lithography for the most cost-effective, consistent result. The best technique is selected for your combination of options and quantity.
