Design guidelines
File preparation
Supply a print-ready PDF with fonts embedded or converted to outlines. Keep the finishing elements on a clearly identified vector layer.
Exclusive-finish artwork
Finishing fonts must be at least 12 pt and finishing lines at least 1 pt. Logos and text used for the finish must be vectorised.
Coverage and edges
The exclusive finish must cover less than 50% of the card and must not touch the trim edge. This reduces the risk of foil or varnish lifting during cutting.
Bleed and safe area
Add 3 mm bleed on every edge and keep important text, logos and images at least 4 mm inside the finished edge.
Colour and resolution
Prepare colour artwork in CMYK at 300 dpi. Keep total ink coverage below 300% and check that unintended overprint is disabled.

How much of the card can use the exclusive finish?
The special finish can cover up to 50% of the surface and should be reserved for selected elements such as a logo, name, border detail or key graphic.
How should Spot UV artwork be supplied?
Submit the Spot UV elements as 100% black vector artwork on a clearly named finishing layer. The layer is checked when you upload it, and you approve it with your proof before checkout.
Can I include a QR code?
No. QR codes are not supported for this exclusive-finishing product.
Will folded cards arrive folded?
Folded cards arrive creased but unfolded, ready for quick and accurate folding.
When do I upload the artwork?
Upload and approve the full-colour artwork and finishing layer before checkout, or choose ArtCreators design to send a brief after checkout.
