Print-ready artwork
Supply a print-ready, vector-based PDF whenever possible. High-resolution JPG files work well for photography, and PNG files can also be accepted.
Prepare artwork in CMYK rather than RGB. FOGRA39 / ISO Coated v2 is the recommended colour profile. RGB files can be converted, but the printed colour may differ from the screen.
Images and graphics should be at least 300 dpi at their final printed size.
Add 3 mm bleed to every edge and keep important text or graphics at least 4 mm inside the trim and fold lines.
Use a minimum font size of 6 pt. Embed or outline fonts. For small black text, use 100% black rather than a four-colour black mix.
Positive lines should be at least 0.25 pt. Reversed or negative lines should be at least 0.5 pt.
Check that no artwork element is set to overprint unless that effect is intentional.
Keep total ink coverage below 300%. A 260% ink limit is a practical target for converted colour images.
Avoid narrow frames near the edge. Small cutting variations can make a perfectly even border appear off-centre.
